go a forum that gets high traffic, write articles in ezine and most powerful method is making your own affiliate program....
No way! In fact, that could make things worse. Search engines really hate hidden text - and if they catch you using it, you could be punished for trying to manipulate your ranking. You can absolutely use the pictures on there, but you need some content (that's visible to everyone, search engines and readers alike) on the page, or you're never going to see the success that you want with it.
the content is all linked from the images. Do you think it would be beneficial to put the movie titles in text under each image?
Yes Google will indexed that.. But you need to optimized the page first before it will be indexed by google.. Hope it helps..
SEO content is what is needed to help drive traffic to your site. Here is how it works. You get a set of keywords. If you dont make it to the front page of Google for the search term for those keywords then your not going to be seen. As it was mentioned earlier write an article post it to your blog. Re-write the same article 10 times submit each to the top 10 article submission sites. Or of course if you can not write, hire someone.
It's too image heavy... as for traffic, I think there are way to many sites like these already... and they do it better. "/ Make a more specific movie site, I guess?
It depends on what kind of traffic are you expecting. If its Organic search traffic, then depending on the competition and your promo/backlinks plan, it could take months to have a decent ranking. Meanwhile target at long tail keywords with little competition to gain momentum first.
If you want my honest advice I don't think a site like this would ever be very successful. I am sure you don't want to hear that after putting a month of work into it, but just think of all the HUGE established websites that will be on the first page search results for these popular movies. There is IMDB, Wikipedia, Amazon, boxofficemojo, Metacritic, RottenTomatoes, Apple Trailers, Yahoo Movies, the movies official website, etc… then all the ticket sites like Fandango, all of the major sites that reviewed that particular movie (NY Times etc), the official Facebook fan page, etc. No matter how good your SEO is, no matter how much you promote it you never will have a chance of competing with those 'mega-sites' IMO. Your site will probably always appear at least several pages back. So you're already in a very crowded market of competing sites. And due to the nature of your site (one sentence), some of your content is just two words (the Twilight page) so there is barely any content or keywords for Google and other search engines to index. But aside from that some advice: - I think your layout is too image heavy. The page took quite a while to load on my computer and I have fast internet (Verizon FIOS). Maybe put less images per page (15 or 20 rather than 32). - Use alt tags for the movie poster images so search engines can find you - You should fix your <title> tag: right now it just says "Home", you should rename it something like "ScreenVice - one sentence movie summaries" and also improve <title> tag on each of your content pages. - Don't put stuff up as "coming soon" , they look like real pages that you can click on even though they aren't. It just makes the page load slower adding an additional several images that are useless to the reader.
you need to optimized your website, put metatags and then do the link building after a month or so you may expect traffic.
hi i have real estate website http://www.mayfair-group.com/ i have done all the things like article submission, link exchange, one way link exchange forum posting but i am not able to get and good traffic and any lead please can anyone suggest me how to get traffic and lead to my property website.
You need to learn search engine optimization. The other posters are right. It is no easy task and requires dedication. That is the only way to get decent traffic for free. Otherwise you will need to drive traffic through Ad networks.
Try uploading pictures to http://rate-funny-pictures.com so you can get free links for images you just rob from other sites
All this is good information. I have to disagree with the one that said you have no chance of getting to the front page of Google. I believe that anything is possible. If are serious about the traffic I would start with optimizing your site. Implement the "on page" SEO. Then head out and start with all the off page stuff. Getting backlinks, put in articles, blog posting, forum posting there are other methods. If your articles are written right, you can see a front page listing quite quickly. Also, try targeting a different set of keywords. You have no 4 word keyword phrases on your site. Only 49 pages indexed in Google. You need put in some front page content. Remember Google can not read images. They read the <alt> tags. Put a few movies on the page, with your summary. Have a set of pages for each genre with navigation to them. Using a set of keywords that doesnt get much competition but has a good search level will bring in the traffic. Good Luck
@gvannorman Thanks for the motivation that it's possible to reach your goals with any site with dedication and hard work.
