Even if you find a registrar which allows a 1 letter domain, i'm pretty sure you won't find any 1 letter domains available. All of them would have been registered. No one would leave such an opportunity. x.com redirects to paypal if i'm not wrong. Edit: Don't expect to find any 1 letter domain available for registration. Read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-letter_second-level_domains I'm pretty sure you won't get one for less than 5 figures.
As per Wikipedia z.com is registered. You might be getting an error because whois services don't allow single letter domain if i'm not wrong. So, z.com is owned by Nissan. Just read the link i posted above your post. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single-letter_second-level_domains .
Maybe the poster is talking about a "1" letter "sub-domain"? such as d.mydomain.com Otherwise if they plan to get one it would have to be some new foreign extension where the county laws allow 1 letter domains, but it will be double tld such as .co.uk
Who said they are not allowed? They are & people do own them Z.com is owned by Nissan X.com is owned by Paypal
as posted previously, the .com one letter domains are owned by nissan and paypal, though there are some more which you can find in google the rest of them, use whois
Not true.. I just typed in (www.z .com) and it went to nissan and then typed in (www.x .com) and it went to paypal.. So in fact there are 1 letter domains. Like one of the previous posters just use whois to see the owners
I guess you haven't been reading any of the posts on this thread as it has already been mentioned many times about them & even examples of those sites
Read the wikipedia link above to give you a clue. As the link indicated there was talk of reviving the ability to register one letter domain names, depending on the extension. It was eventually dropped due to the potential "unfair" advantage big corporations have over the average user.
