It's an evolving format I have been experimenting with. There is an aggregation of content but no original content. It's a simple portal concept, it's not my.yahoo.com but my.yahoo.com doesn't give me any original content either. It is working well with SE's and is generating traffic. The conversion rate (clickthroughs) is close to being too high rather than being 0%.
i have had lots of success getting high results with msn. Unfortunately msn doesn't appear to be a large traffic driver :-/
I have to agree, we shot to #1 when we started using the coop, I think MSN is using links as the one of the main factors in the Algo, could be wrong though.
sitetutor, yeah number #1 is nice but there are only 10,226,790 sites listed in MSN's search resullts. It's not like you're number 1 out of 11,000,000. What's the history of the site? How long has it been around and what was it ranked over it's life time? Do you attribute the success to the co-op?
I was amusing myself I guess. A #1 ranking with a term like surfing out of 10,000,000 is very impressive. I was just wondering what you think got you there. The co-op has worked wonders for me. I rank #1 for an IBM mega-product ahead of IBM so MSN likes some of little guys for some reason. By the way, I have surfed only once and it was at Pacific Beach. Old guys rule!
