Is anyone #1 in google when they search using their keywords? If so are you raking in the dough because of this?

What other search engines are good for your bottom line?

The big three of the search engines are Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Google is only one that sends me any traffic. Being number 1 only helps if it is a keyword for which is searched frequently. Being number 1 for a term no one ever heard of is not going to be lucrative.

I'm number one for "vine grove scouts" ... but it's a small community and it's also in the url. Of the 78K results, I have four of the top ten listings ... but as Smyrl wisely points out - it's to no avail if no one is searching that term.

I'm number 2 and 3 for "elizabethtown information" out of 2.65 million results, but that searched for about a whopping 10 times a month I'm guessing. Now, if I could creep up for "elizabethtown kentucky" from #8 to #1 or 2 it would probably prove more profitable.

Being #1 for a term that doesn't get searched for will bring a nice ego boost, but not much of a wallet bulge ;p
