We got to the #1 spot for a keyword phrase in Bing + Yahoo but still #12 in Google. Within 2 weeks we got to #1 in Bing + Yahoo for a local keyword phrase by having some PR5 backlinks, 1,000+ dir submissions, youtube/motionbox/etc submissions, social bookmarking, created wordpress/blogger accounts linking to the site and etc. But we are not moving up in Google?? What else can we do to reach to the #1 spot in Google vs the other engines?
I am having the same problem although I am currently #1 on Page 2 of G for my main KW. It could be worse I suppose.
Because google is better oriented to the site content and business I think. The keyword 'Explain stuff' brings my site explainstuff.com 1st in yahoo and bing too. But in Google mine is second. The first one is somebody else, very plain,(probably better SEO), old, lot more content than mine - explainthatstuff.com May be also note worthy is the other site is PR4 and I'm only PR3 probably that?
Also on the footer, you can't read "Serving carpet cleaning virginia beach, chesapeake, norfolk, portsmouth, suffolk, newport news, hampton va, nagshead nc, kitty hawk, north carolina, NC, VA" And, regarding your Powered by, http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=11597995&postcount=22
Whilst there is competition for this term there is no reason to spend a fortune to get on Google's first page. If I was doing this for someone the cost would be under $1,000 which basically covers getting enough quality links from sites that Google is proven to love. If you're interested in talking about working together I can offer you a guaranteed ranking package that is highly affordable. Will
you just need to wait.Let the links' age increase.Did you check the links in google.are atleast some of them showing up there?if so,then that is a good sign and you just need to wait.
I agree, patience is a lost forgotten key for a good ranking in Google. I am sure many of your competitors would dream and wish to have your rankings in Bing and Yahoo. It is need easy to rank well for all three but be happy (not complacent) with your Google ranking and just give it some more time
Google operates slightly differently than most search engines as far as their algorithms and what not. If what your doing works good for other search engines it doesn't necessarily mean it's going to work good for Google. Also, don't forget about Google's "sandbagging" period. What ever you do it may take up to 3 months to see if it worked or not.
