Selling #1 Google Ranked Site - 2012 Doomsday Site

I am not 100% sure its time to sell this site but if the price is right I will let it go.

This is the #1 site on the net for search terms "2012 Doomsday".

Site traffic has picked up steadily over the past two years - doubling about every 4 months. With every TV, Radio, and movie talking about the mayan calendar, end of times, 2012, etc this site just keeps getting more and more traffic. Since the movie was release this month traffic and revenue have doubled.

Current revenue via Adsense is about 100.00 month. Year to date is just over 840.00. Zero effort is put into this site.

Every day we receive offers from book companies, TV shows, etc wanting to either interview us or partner to market their items.

Again - not convinced its time to sell - but lets see where the offers go.

We also have a sister site that we may sell together or seperate. Its www.PoleReversal.com - It also ranks #1 for its search terms. Revenue on this one is 20 - 30 per month and growing.

I tried searching for "2012 Doomsday" both with and without quotes and it was ranked #3 on Google.com, #7 on Yahoo with quotes and #4 w/o them, while it is #11 on bing w/o quotes and #5 with them.

 

Do you have a BIN in mind? What is your reserve if you don't mind telling?

you're saying the current revenue is about $100/month and the BIN is not less than 5k, which means your asking price is more than about 4 years of continuous making revenue and according to your website the year 2012 is the end of the world!! hence I will be die before even getting my money back ....

 

Revenue has increased from less than 30.00 per month to 100.00 per month in the last year. I would expect it to continue to grow - at what rate I have no idea. The site only makes money via adsense right now. I have several of these types of sites that are popular - low maint - and bring in adsense revenue. The site could easly have other revenue streams such as an online store, video ads, etc but this takes time - which I dont have.

The site seems to be getting the traffic but at the moment i fail to see the value within the site to be asking $5k BIN.

Could you please provide screenshots of the earnings of the site and reveal any methods of advertising that you use at the moment.

Nice stats and thanks for showing these, personally i think that you should be asking for 6 x the sites revenue so far this year so would be looking towards $3.6k BIN.

 

I am interested in just the forum, the 2012forum.com site. Would you sell this separate from the other domains that frame and link to it? I'm certain the forum isn't generating any revenue, or at least not as much as the other sites. Let me know if interested.

Well I certainly hope so, it's framed and linked from all the other sites he is selling. There is no forum on any other domain mentioned, perhaps you should take a closer look at the site yourself.

 

I am willing to place a bet that he's just framed and linked to the most active 2012 forum out there... maybe he can clear this up.
