Hi, I have a site with about 1500 pages. Each page targets a different keyword. Would it be wisest to have the +1 button, which is on every page of the site, send the +1 to the individual page URLs, or to the main page URL only? People will usually see the sub-page URLs in the search results. My question is really, if all +1's go to the main page URL of the site, will it be displayed for sub-pages in search results, or will Google only show the +1 count for each specific page? I'm starting to see Google +1 counts show up in the search results even when not logged in. Regards, B
I think the best practice is to try out by yourself Personally I don't think there's much helpful but still good way for SEO because it's good to pay attention to each objects.
+1 works on every single page indivisually. If you have 1000 +1 on home page then it's for the home page only. If you have 20 +1 on subpage url then it's for that subpage.
It depends on your website... I will suggest you to put +1 button pages with informative content. Pages like home page, index page, blog posts etc requires +1 button, so that it can tell the user about the quality of content your pages have got. Obviously, there is no use of integrating it on Contact us page or privacy policy page.
