I just wanted to share my experience with 1 dollar host. I bought hosting with them figuring I could host a backup\test site with them in case my primary host when down. Here are my observations: 1) You get what you pay for 2) Their tech suppport is completely useless and they cant type in proper english. Everytime they replied to me this misunderstood what I orginally said 3) They get constant DDoS attacks 4) They lie about their uptime on their homepage and they don't even give you real updates when they are working tickets
I use 1 dollar webhosting on most of my sites and i think they are great. The only problem is the mysql is outdated. I submitted a ticket and they updated it so i like them. My sites have never got DDoSed.
I checked out their plans, they are offering "unlimited" on some of their plans, which is just going to cause dramas no end. When I was first getting started, I found out that you had to avoid any host offering unlimited. It just doesnt exist. @op, did you get a refund?
When it comes to low cost hostings, there is higher risk you will experience issues. Also how you cant expect super support when you pay them one buck for 30 days..
If you are in the market for really low cost hosting don't go for an unlimited plan, it should have X amount of space and X amount of bandwidth. Check on webhostingtalk.com for low priced shared hosting offers and do your research to find customer feedback. As with anything in this world you get what you pay for.
Our advice to all is to always go for proper reliable hosting companies. If price is the only criteria while taking a hosting then one should not complain later about the services.
I have their silver hosting and its been horrible. Everytime I try to do anything on Cpanel the site literally crawls. It might be ok for a simple blog or small website, but its complete garbage for business. I tried to get my $12 back, but of course I got excuses and they told me all the problems have been fixed. I am not going to lose sleep over $12 and just take it as a learning experience. On a side note, I now use Hudson Valley Host which is $5.99 a month. It has been great and the support is great. You can pay monthly and there is no need to shell out payment for an entire year, unless you want a substantial discount.
I am glad you have had a good experience, but I did not have one. Googling reviews about them does not yield great results.
