#1 doesn't always mean huge profits

Being #1 on Google isn't always as good as it seems.

In my experience sometimes a single #1 keyword can bring you over $100k a year - but we are talking about very specific and targetted things.

But most of the time it's pretty much pointless

What's your experience with #1 on G?

 

never been no 1 LOL, to be honest.

 

being no.1 in Google may not be that much profitable some times but that's the best practice one cld ever hav through SEO!

 

I hate to become number 1 because meaning your the first to be kill but number 10 to 100

 

Isn't that what SEO is all about? Finding out what that specific, targeted thing is and getting to number one for it?

 

I don't agree with that at all. You've obviously not done proper research on your keywords or your site was naturally at the top through such low competition. Number 1 is always the best position and I'm 100% sure everyone else on this forum would love to be there with their sites.

Even if it is a bad keyword, I'd rather be at number 1 than number 10 for it!

 

I agree, being 1 is better than anything else.

For example here is what I've been doing.

So I use google trends of course and write stories based off of the top trends and keywords.

These keywords aren't competitive because the stories are only popular for so long but I end up ranking 1-3 for each of those I do 95% of the time.

This brings traffic and helps to make your site more popular.

I stay in those rankings for about a day then of course get bumped down.

But I watch as my traffic increases everyday.

 

if u r on competitive keywords on first page then there is chance of profit

 

Main thing is our conversion ratio. Google traffic is nothing if our site cant convert traffic to sales.

 

I profit without competitive keywords still. Because I do not rank for any yet.

 

Being #1 on the big doesn't mean $$$, there are keywords that will not bring visitors to your site, and these keywords are almost useless, IMHO. Always remember that Traffic means Profit, focus to highly-searched keywords that are not that competitive and easy to target.

 

That is what I am trying to say, google trends, what is that?

It is a viewing of the highest searched keywords at the moment, the thing is, these keywords are not competitive. This really helps with getting traffic to your site because okay for example, I choose a couple of the top searched keywords. Now I write a couple stories based on these keywords and using these keywords. Now, I am getting traffic to my site because these are way less competitive, highly search, and new. I use it for the time being for now so, I do a few stories in the morning, Maybe one in mid day, and one or more at night. Now as stories get old a popular sites bump mine out of the top rankings, I am ranked in a whole fresh new page.

Now I am getting a steady nice flow of of traffic to my website. Every day my traffic unique daily visits increase because, my site is getting more popular and a better page ranking.

Now once your site gets popular, you can rank higher in those competitive keywords.

And I do use this method by the way, it works wonders. I only started learning seo 2 months ago when I found it what it was.

Yup, being #1 is pointless if only a few people search for that term, but when you're number one for 10 terms that only a few people search for then you get 10 times more traffic

 

i've got a site which is no1 for 'ladder' and 'ladders', plus a 20 or so other terms such as extension ladders etc, but whilst the competition is massive on these terms, they arent the biggest traffic generators.. smaller terms such as loft ladder (which is no3 or 4) is a much bigger traffic puller. However, if i got this to numer 1 then that term would obviously be a bigger winner.

Its a term thing.. Yes, no1 is the place to be for competitive terms OR terms which are relevant to your niche. However, if you're number 1 for minority longtail terms then obviously this isnt going to do much for you.

 

Yes It all depends on keywords you use. Some keywords can give massive amount of trafic and less in profit. But some give you less in traffic , buty very good ion profit . So you have to do some exeperiments before you find best solution for you .

 

I was #1 on google for my youtube promotional site, sold views, channel views and ratings. In the 9 months of its existence, I made rougly $100,000usd before taxes. Now YouTube shut down the operation and I've got nothing but some money I put away for savings.

So it is pretty profitable

 

i was never no 1 for my main keywords, still trying to come at page 1

 

Being no. 1 for a keyword that nobody is going to search it from search engines means nothing.

 

Being #1 also + high traffics shall be able = huge profits

 

Will never be #1. I'll be happy with #100
