1 day's stats

i launched a new blog yesterday and in that 1 day i got 1040 pageviews, 10 feed subscribers, 4 adsense clicks and 1 affiliate signup. about 1/3 of traffic was direct, 2/3 was from referring sites and it only got 1 hit from search engines. i decided to shut it down just after midnight today because it was right on the legal borderline and i didnt want to risk it

anyway, im not here to brag. 3 of my friends run blogs, and they said they've never seen stats like that in a single day let alone the 1st day they were up. my question, since im relatively new to blogging, is: are my stats insanely good, or do my friends just not know what they're doing? im just looking for something to compare to, so if anyone can help me out i'd really appreciate it

The newbies, inexperienced, dummies would say that is good.

*shrugs shoulders* It depends on how you got that many.

    - subscribed to a few related blogs who updated multiple times a day and was always the first to comment their new posts
    - added as many people and communities as mybloglog would allow
    - submitted it to technorati
    - ran facebook cpm ads since my site was targeting mainly students

that's about it. didnt do any spamming, actually only had 11 incoming links (counting each blog as 1 link, not each post as a separate link) but my username was what i guess you could call attractive so a lot of people clicked it

Well, it also depends on the content.
If you had porn in your blog, then yes, you will get lots of pageviews, subscriptions, and ad clicks.
If you had plain content, or a "personal" blog, congratulations on some pretty nice stats.

Hot girls, porn...same thing. You attracted content using the same appeal.

Yes, but the results are expected with that type of content.
