1-Dash Domains look like phone numbers

We responded to a post asking about 'numbers' in a domain, received a couple positive responses and didn't want to hi-jack the topic so we posted it here.

Numbers That Works is about new ideas because we came up with domains that look like phone numbers and/or are translated using a phone keypad ~ Thus 'Numbers That Work'

Our best example is using the keyword 'pizza'.
    1-Pizza.com (1-Dash dot com Format)
    1-Pizza.mobi (1-Dash dot mobi Format)
1-74992.com (74992 spells Pizza on a phone keypad)
1-74992.mobi (1-Dial dot mobi Format - uses number)
The 1- mimics a phone number so it's a great memory trigger for people using a phone to connect to the web.

    Please Discuss The Following Question:
We think it will take a while but at the end of the day, will people that own 1-Dash Domains value them at PPC or as a marketing tool for mobile surfers?

I think before that happens, people will have stopped using numbers for telephones and will use alphanumeric locators.

Agreed and then voice commands may make all out lives easier but until then, we think a domain that looks like a phone number is a great marketing tool and hope people like it.

We know it will depend on how well we roll out some of our sites and so far DP folks have been helpful keeping us on track :)

i'd agree with you.. the phone-number-domain looks like a great marketing tool provided it is used for the right client - like a takeaway pizza place or something similar..

if i saw the domain name in a ppc ad, i'd click on it. maybe not for ordering pizza, but a better example would be 1-flowers if i want to order flowers or gifts online..

THX Wagooza, our approach goes directly against pay per click domain value vs. marketing value but we did an analysis of several industries including the search industry and keywords for the PC, Food, Banking and the Real Estate Industry.

Since dot mobi just finished their auction, we are preparing 1-Dash and 1-Dial Domains that may work for people that 'missed' out winning bids for domains like skiresorts.com that sold for $850,000

Why not Snow that looks like a phone number?
    1-Snow.com 1-snow.mobi 1-7669.com (7669 = snow on a phone keypad) 1-7669.mobi
    or 1-SKI.MOBI ??
