Good advise, but it is the most difficult. the most difficult of any website is to find out how to make it appealing and get the conversion.

@ericmorin yes the website has to be appealing but people spend too much time making their website appealing and too little promoting it.Some of my websites in some niches are completely crappy but still it converts well enough.Having said that i do believe websites should look good but for starters you should just concentrate on promoting and marketing what you already have.

Good tips, many people go into an online site as they would a brick and mortar business, the rules for the web are twisted in the other way, build a site for the visitors, not for your own personal interests, if it's for your own interests, then that is what blogs are for

yes, if any body make site business purpose then he need to make site according visitors expect from you site. Content should be unique or according to targeting keyword because visitor get right information which he wants. If you are making personal site then u need to make true story.

    Another advice:
    Sitemap Integration
Sitemaps are not only important for Google, but it is also a tool that can help your visitors navigate through your site easily. If you have no idea how to create a site map, you can google it and create a sitemap for your website.

    Google XML Sitemap(google it!)
    - G XML SiteMap Submission - allows you to submit your site to Google Sitemap for a chance at better ranking.

DO XML Sitemap for your website immediately!

I have seen more often, that within first day of the website launch, people make their websites an adsense showroom.

I think this is mistake. I would never put any monetization tool on my website until it drives valuable traffic on it.
It is not recommended to put an adsense code at the launch of any website.

    HI PLRdownloads,

I think, you should coinsider the following in the planning fase, who is the website for and whats the pourpose of it.

Is it for ordinary people, who wants information ?
Is it for technicians, who want to get into detail ?
    Is it for shoppers ?

The targeted group is especially important, when you come to monetarization and testing offers.

which offers works on your targets, ordinary aff.offers, adsence commercials or just a simpel report/opt.in.

    regards, LASSE

    hi, LasseKohau ..
Can you tell me why people are on DIGITAL POINT.
AS it is focusing all types of people. It can be used for every purpose. People of every category are using this forum.
So do not focus on one type of people if you are not running specific business. As waridtel com can not make shoping cart over here...

    Best Regards

From here you can also add some suggestion page for your site so you will know what your visitors likes and dislikes

"Dragtastic" is correct; nothing is more frustrating than a site that takes forever to load. And with the onset of Flash and video, some people do not even realize that their site takes forever to load.

I just researched this, and discovered that according to Yahoo & Google, it is recommended that your site not take more than 4 seconds to load... Down from 8 seconds last year. Otherwise, your visitor will click back and head to the next site that actually opens.

You can test your own pages very easily; just Google "optimum page load time" or something similar. A lot of free tools will pop up that you can use that will tell you how long it takes for your page to load....

Yeah, I think everyone has made that mistake....also, you and your visitor would like a professional looking site.

But a site that just directs the visitor where you want them to go is actually more important
