1-800 number for my website

I want to register a 1-800 number with my website so it can be a bit more professional. However, I don't want to hire a support agent or team and will not be arround phone at all times. Is there any possible way I can have the number and then when a customer calls it, it could say

"phone support currently not availble at this time, please e-mail "e-mail@name.com" or use the contact us feature on our website, Thank you."

Can you reccomend a service or any way I can have it like that, my website isn't big enough or worth having a customer support line. Thanks:)

There was a survey done on this a few years ago, and it is actually LESS professional if you have a 1-800 number that goes to a recording, than not having one at all. Customers think you are professional, then try to call it, and they are get disappointed & frustrated.

    Sure!

Your best bet is probably getting a KALL8.com 877/888/866 forwarding number for $2 per month and forwarding it to a free voicemail service like GrandCentral.

GrandCentral is not currently letting people in. I have been trying for months! You can try K9 though. I have used them for about one year and they are awesome for free voicemail to email service.

Just have an answering machine and tell them to leave:

    1) Their name
    2) Their phone number
    3) Their email
    4) Their message
