ok well i have one thousand dollars that a friend gave me to get my online store www.splaytech.com up and running. How would you guys suggest i use this money so hopefully next time i advertise i have money to spend rather then borrowing. Also i want it to be more focused toward seo rather then ppc etc. btw i was thinking about adding my site to yahoo directory but wasn't sure if it was worth it since i'm listed in dmoz and haven't got any change in search engine traffic because of it. What do you all think?
Well I recommend to submit it to few good directories such as skaffe.com, joeant.com, zeal.com, site-sift.com, gimpsy.com etc. This will help you in a long run rather than in a short run. You will get top positions in over 35 search engines by subscribing www.exactseek.com promotion. It is just US$ 12.00 for every 3 months. Yahoo directory is a must submit for non-commercial website but, I don't think it is worth paying US$$$ per year for a single directory. Yahoo dir may give you some back links later. Good Luck.
so you think i should just use money to submit to big directories? and how long will it take after i submit to all these BIG directories for my site to be ranked well because of these links? btw my site was allready listed in dmoz and joeant, and i just submitted my site to site sift, seems worth it, 30 bucks for a link on a pr6 page and a pr8 home page.
I was thinking a similar thing recently, I have about the same amount in the bank and it's time to start actively promoting. I'm planning to start by buying a few select, long term text links. This is comparable to paid directory listings I suppose, but I'd like to simply increase inbound links, while keeping it as 'natural' as possible.
I would suggest dividing your 1000$ budget into 5 segments - 200$ for paid directory listings - 200$ for blog listings - 200$ for affiliate setup - 200$ for press releases + forum advertising - 200$ for content + article submission This is just to give you an overview. You can change it according to your specific needs. Hope that helps
I would recommend not submitting to yahoo directory yet. Submit to it when you earn at least $299 from the above submissions
where can i set up an affiliate program for only 200 dollars? the cheapest i've seen is shareasale and thats about 400 or something. Please let me know where to set up an affiliate program for only 200 bucks.
setting up an affiliate program could cost less than 100$ (if you buy some affiliate script) - google for it and you should come up for many results. the additional 100$ dollar could be spend to configure the script or to pay the affiliate manager
oh cool, do you know of any good ones? btw i'd have to hand pick these websites if i get a script and have to pay them all myself. and have to keep records, etc. it will take lots of work if have over even 10 affiliates. but if you know of any good one please let me know, i'll try this.
Try google adwords by using 200 bucks as weekly budget. If u need economical google adwords professional who can manage your campaign for you and to whom, no upfront payment is required, that u can get from google itself. To help u, i m giving u the link. http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&q=economical+google+adwords+professionals&meta= Enjoy
Buy seo software. I use Arelis and I tell you it is well worth it. With a thousand dollars you could buy a bunch of seo software and get ahead of the game.
Visited your website and had the following comments... Please include a search area in your website, the category menu is great but search is a bit more helpful in many aspects. Invest some time and money in logo and the footer section of your website. Now to the promotion aspect... have you tried froogle and other comparison shop websites. For the area you are trying to sell there are tons of website out there and dont spend more on SEO softwares. This is a highly competitive area... Try listing in Ebay and point users to additional manuals or freebies ( electronic/ebooks) on your website. This ensures you test your pricing and establish a few customers and good feedback rating which you can add as testimonials. shopzilla, shopping, dealtime are competing very highly for the google adwords hence you will not be making money if you are trying to setup an adwords campaign... instead join with them by offering good shipping discounts and try to establish yourself in some of these websites... these are the websites which are slowly killing Amazon. Dont be a roadkill by spending your precious dollars in SEO etc for your wholesite. My suggestion is SEO for some of the brand new yet to come products by adding some more content in a special section. Write reviews of the products when you find time... Cheers and goodluck with your Ebusiness...
The best investment I could advise you if are truly dedicated to this... You should spent $200 dollars buying O'Reilly books and SEO Books... I saved my self thousands by simply learning things myself...You should only trust yourself when it comes to projects that need to be quality and reflect your ideas... I wouldnt spend money on PPC, it is crap, it will use you up like a two-dollar-hooker and your site will come out the same except you will no longer have any capital... Second I would advise ger SEO software, I recommend SEO elite... $167 Rest spend on marketing and etc. I would think that a good blog promotion would work wonders... Anyways lets review... -Books -SEO Software -Marketing - stay away from PPC and e-mail marketing, and dont get me started with the guaranteed traffic scams...rule one nothing is guaranteed, rule 2 if it seems to good to be true then it is... Afte this you have about $300-$400 left to improve your site's look and feel...but most importantly to make it usefull...give it an edge... Right now i would say that your site's design is not very well made, no offense justing constructive critisicm...I see some images that are resized by the browser which are either squished, stretched, or pixeled....details matter... Good Luck tell us how it works out
Hi guys, I'm in a similar boat with www.boyce-bailey-art.co.uk and another site www.paintings-r-us.co.uk. I've put all my money into google ads and I'm UK based. What would be your approach on this?
no offense but i dont' wanna use arelis since its a link exchange software, and google is most likely not going to count link exchanges by next update. Also my products are listed on yahoo shopping, and froogle. Yahoo shopping barely gives me about maybe 3 hits per day and no sales after one week. Froogle is just crap to me, doesn't do any good. i've tryed ppc with google and ya your right it doesn't really work. someone mentioned my footer, what exactly should i do with my footer? and would a good logo really make a big difference in sales?
