Hi all, I've got a new site that I am promoting. Came up with a list of keywords, found that there was little competion for these words (most weren't showing any ads on google searches). Thought I could bid a penny on these and the ads would be shown since they weren't showing any others. I was wrong. The bids were accepted but I got the 'below estimate of 5¢ to be on first page' (something like that). None of them ran. I raised my bids to 5 cents and in about 10 minutes ran through my test budget (just $5), and had five new participating users. Google charged me a nickle for each one even though no other ads were appearing with it. Shouldn't that have been less? It's still a good deal, but my budget is embarresingly small. I need to squeeze as much from it as I can. The ctr I got from these keywords was awesome, 10 to 50%. Will that raise the quality score.... and... Will raising the ctr/quality score allow me to bid under five cents and still have google run the ads? Any other way to get sub nickel ads on the search network. Thanks for any thoughts on this.
the minimum is .05 on the search results pages and .01 on the content network though your unlikely to get anything for that cheap, its best to raise your rate temporarily until you build a good ctr and then lower the bids down
