I'm taking orders for articles that can be about anything but I specialize in Technology articles. My prices are $.015 a word no matter how many there are but if you order more than 20 I will throw in one for free so if you order 20 you'll get 21. Here is an example of my writing below if you're interested. PM if interested. Free up Disk Space One way to speed up a Personal Computer is to free disk space. By deleting extraneous programs and files, the computer has more computing power to put toward those programs that are important and being actively used. Programs like computer games and large files that are not being used can be deleted manually by the user. Beyond this more measures can be taken. The Disk Cleanup program is designed to find programs and files not being used. This program comes along with the operating system of most PCs. Deleting unnecessary programs and large files is an easy step toward feeing up disk space. A lot of pictures or music files are good examples of things that can slow a computer. Alone, each individual file does not take up much space. However, one does not often have only a few pictures or music files. The sheer number of these files can pile up and eat a good chunk of a PC’s memory. Saving these files to a compact disk is a good alternative. If one saves music to a disk in a data storage format and not a music CD format, a lot of files can be saved per CD. In this way they can still be played from a computer without taking up the computer’s memory. Pictures are the same way; they can be saved to a CD and stored elsewhere. With the low cost of CDs now, this is a cost effective way to store data with less risk of corruption or slowing the PC they are viewed on. This also is a good way of backing up the files in case of computer corruption. If the above is done and the PC is still not at the desired speed, one more step can be taken to free disk space. This is of course the program mentioned above, the Disk Cleanup. This program is designed to remove temporary internet files, downloaded programs, temporary Windows files, optional components not in use, installed programs not in use and it empties the recycle bin. All of these things take up disk space and are not required for the computer to run efficiently. Once they are taken care of, the computer will run faster. In order to use the Disk Cleaner one must simply follow the following path: Start, All Programs, Accessories, System tools and finally Disk Cleanup. Once in this menu the drive to be cleaned needs to be specified, assuming there is more than one on the PC in question. Another dialogue box will come up with a list of actions. If the user does not want one of them done, he simply needs to uncheck the corresponding box then click Okay. After several minutes the program will run its course and the disk will be cleaned as much as possible. This affords more computing power for the programs the operator want running. Clearing up disk space is a quick and easy way to grant a PC with more speed. Using two very simple processes, a user with relatively little knowledge of the intricacies of a PC can increase its speed.
