well let them make their formal announcement. But before this happens they have no right to do it like this. If they do adjust commissions like this, they will be able to see the losses for themselves. Affiliates dont promote ebay because we love ebay, we promote it cause the commissions are good. remove the good commissions and watch the affiliates scatter.

The more I analyze the reports, the more I'm convinced that they're unfathomable. The commission calculations bear little resemblence to the fees that one would think ought to be generated based on the fee structure published to sellers. That's why you see a 1 cent commssion on a $249.99 sale on the one hand, and a 22 cent commission on a $2.24 sale. You've got it right when you say commission reports are wacky. That's an understatement.

Addendum: I see that I had a commission of .01 on a 179.95 item a couple of days ago. Does misery love company?

I'm new to all this, and would love to have someone provide some clarity.

I just spotted a commission of around $2.50 for something that sold for $1,700. Yes, I think the stats are whacked.

Could this be related to the cheap listing day they had the other day? (I think)

Seems like a few days ago they had 20 cent listings... hmm

Correct me if I am wrong - on cheap listing days, just the listing is cheap - final value fees are the same? Somebody please verify?

I have and I am sure they got quite a bit of emails today on this subject. Good thing to post in the thread on the ebay forum as well to get the attention of the mods there. I suspect it is a mistake involving the switching over of the new fee system. They probably accidentally messed up the commissions in the process.

Well, I won't go into all that's wrong with yesterday's report, but I can't understand why a $2.69 sale brings an 18 cent commission and a $41 sale yields a 19 cent commission.

Final value fees have nothing to do with cheap listing days: These are two separate charges to the seller.

I also got a whacked commission on the 18th. The commission rate was the same as usual, but the final value fee was way too low. This must be a glitch on eBay's part as the final value fee is what they charge the seller and they would not want that to be so low. All of this could have happened due to software, system changes while they are getting the new fee structure into place.

Hopefully, a corrected commission will appear at CJ.

Note that today, my latest sales have the right commissions...

Since it seems lots are affected and we're all still in the dark, does anybody happen to have a direct contact at eBay to one of their affiliate managers or their corporate offices? Email? Phone number?

If we all start making noise, eventually we will get heard.

I got a reply from CJ saying that everything looked in order and if I have further questions to contact the non-exsistant eBay affiliate manager.

on the good news, all other commissions besides that day seem to be normal.

Don't bother trying with their live chat support either. Those people in india are useless. They say send an email to this address that has people who forward it to the correct department and they will make sure it gets to the affiliate manager. Yeah right, probably just hit delete and move on to the next one.

I wish someone like Shoemoney would chime in and help with this. I'm sure they have a direct contact over there.

Why don't you try other ways of monetization? adsense perhaps?

Adsense works, but to put it in perspective for you. I have both Adsense and eBay up on one of my sites. and I make about $3.00 EPM (earnings per thousand impressions) with Adsense and about $40.00 EPM with the Ebay links. (lots of ACRU's)

In another case it depends on the focus of your sites.
In one particular site and niche, most of the adsense ads that show up are just placed there by other affiliate marketers promoting someones elses program. By simply cutting out the middle man and putting up the Ad;s directly myself I increase my profit by %300

its really not an option as you can see.

It is always good to analyze your CJ report daily..

I found a good site which can exactly show you which auction you are getting commission from..

    Check it out..

Have you guys had any issues with not getting any counts in CJ for ACRUs?

My site has been up since 2/9 and since then i've only had one ACRU which came from someone clicking on my product in my Editor Kit listings and then probably registering to bid.

I have a separate SID on a flexlink in the site instructions that tells users to register before using the site and then takes them directly to the eBay registration page (it pops a new window I think).

That has generated 44 clicks this month so far but ZERO registrations let alone active registrations. I seriously think something is wrong with this. Anybody else encounter this sort of thing? Their live support said the link was fine...but its a direct call to action and i would hope i'd have a higher conversion rate on something like that that has very clear instructions.
