Wow, I got my first .01 clicks today. That is really depressing. I hope Adsense never goes to fractions of a cent.
Congratulations ! Think it positively, try hard to bring more tarrific to your website rather than just blamming google. It is the end of the beginning, good luck!
Posting your URL might help if you want people to review your site. As for the 0.01 click, I've seen many like that. Typically before I 'target' a page's theme for more focused ads. tom
I've been trying to figure the math. When I use Adwords, my min ppc is 5 cents. So is this proof that G is keeping at least 80% of the PPC revenue? tom
I've entertainment site and most of clicks are worth 0.01 to 0.02 $. I am seriously thinking to remove google ads and put something else there, 1c is not worth to loose visitor.
Not picking on you, but using you as a starting point. Does "smart pricing" lower PPC charges to the customer? I mean, 1 cent clicks gets me thinking that either G is charging their customers 1 cent in AdWords, or G is "smart pricing" is a ploy to just keep 80% or more of the PPC revenue, verse sharing with the publisher? So, how can a publisher get only 1 cent? tom
Those are nice questions, but i think that Google's oficial answer to it, is that they will charge less to the advertiser in X site that has been "smart priced" and they will charge the "regular" price to a non smart priced website... So that leads me to think that Google will earn less with smart pricing to but i don't know for sure if i'm correct :/
g has lowered min cpc to .01 recently I believe, also with Y!, MSN and Altavista ads on the horizon, the market for the advertisers is getting better while publishers will be feeling decrease in earnings :'(
I dont even consider adsense for my entertainment type sites. It's just not worth it. Since YPN ads target horribly anyway but pay more they tend to do a lot better on entertainment sites for me. So I just blend them in well and get more clicks. On the other hand. For targetted niche high paying keyword categories Adsense can't be beat for clicks and they target well.
Yeah my entertainment sites averaged out at 5.56 cents per click last month, nothing to be happy considering 12 cents last year this time. How much does YPN pay for entertainment ads? I also have an account with another publisher with which I average .12-.23 cents per click daily, per CTR is so much less that .02 and .03 click add up for 10 times higher revenue.
Yeah its nothing to be happy about, esepcially considering that entertainment sites usually have high number or return visitors who wouldnt click on ads to save their lifes. So all you can do it hope to build up more and more unique traffic and have those 5 pennies at a time add up to something
That reminds me of the scene from Office Space: "That's the beauty of it. Each withdrawal is a fraction of a cent. That's too small to notice. Take a thousand withdrawals a day, space it out over a few years, that's a couple hundred thousand dollars." "Just like Superman III."
or like adsense I: have 10,000 uniques a day, with 50,000 ad impressions and with 1,000 clicks a day, with each click being 5 cents, thats $50 a day, $1500 a month, 18000 a year. add zeros to taste
