0 page Impressions but Clicks and Earnings Registering - Can you explain this?

I write and publish on several AdSense sharing, article publishing sites. However, one of them reports 0 page impressions alongside its URL but also clicks and earnings from them. There is nothing in eCPM either.

    What explains this?

(The same site has Chitika but page impressions and clicks are reported as I'd expect there.)

Maybe it's an error on page.

The clicks might have come from the same IP more then once and they might have just counted them as clicks and not impressions?

the site which it concerns has chitika on it to and that shows how many page views I'm getting a day. I'm not worried about it.

If someone clicks on an ad while viewing Google's cached version of the page, this could happen, also. The other possibility (if this is just something you've noticed today) is that not all statistics are updated at the same time. Tomorrow there may be impressions showing once everything catches up.

No, this has been going on for weeks. How do people view cached versions of pages? I can't believe that all the pages are viewed this way...

When you look at the listing when your search is returned on Google, there is often a link that says "Cached" This allows you to view the version of the page that Google has cached.

Don't think so as even with 0 impressions I am being paid for clicks. When that happens I'm seeing 0 in the epc and 0 in the click through rate

How much are you being paid? No need to answer, just for your own information...is it in the few cents range? If it is, they could be CPM ads, you get paid by view of those, not by click.

Go into the advanced reports and on the lower left will be a drop down menu for Show data by...select Individual Ad and then check the box by Show data by targeting type - contextual or placement. Placement ads are the ones where you get a small amount for each time the ad is viewed. If all the earnings are associated with placement ads, that's the answer to your original question.

Thanks for your considered reply it was really useful but not for this as it showed that the ads are contextual. I don't meant to cause you a headache but is there any other reason you can suggest for the problem outlined?

I wonder if Google is doing backpayment for valid clicks. Sometimes, my statcounter reports showed clicks but Adsense report did not. A couple of days later, Adsense credited the payment for the clicks.
