    At the validator, choose more options. Profile has a drop-down. Select the css level you prefer. See validate with options. You may also configure the Firefox Web Developer extension. Click options⇝validator⇝css 3.

    That's what happens when you get used to the developer toolbar. I didn't even know that was there.
