My website averages 250 UV / Day but I receive less than 1% organic Google traffic. It is an anime website so there is lots of competition. What can I do to improve the search engine results of my website?

Try a low cost PPC campaign using the keyword "video" with a MaxCPC of ~0.20US and target the world. This will get you more UV and then focus on the top 10 keyword phrase you are after.

But focus more on "video" that "Anime"

    Rank better?

Joking aside, you need to do some SEO work. If you do that already, try to focus on some long-tail phrases with a bit less competition.

Cheers. Could you explain to me what you mean by long-tail phrases?

Long-tail phrases are search phrases consisting of multiple words.
Where the competition for "anime" is probably fierce, less people will compete for rankings on "best free anime videos", "anime videos from japan" or "anime samurai movies".

If you start by focusing on some long-tail phrases, you will be able to rank your site quicker on these than on the really competitive words and phrases. Working on long-tails doesn't have to be a dead end. While working on improving your rank for "best free anime videos", you will also improve your rank for "best anime videos", "best free anime", "free anime", "best anime", "anime videos" and ultimately "anime".

I am no anime expert, so I have no clue, what long-tails might be relevant for your site, but hopefully my point came across anyway.
