I don't plan to drive away people from that site, they then won't visit any of the sites on the network. Edit: another two sites added! See: http://privax.us
FaIR warning to everyone, look out for a ban from adsense after opening a proxy, me and my friend have both been booted from adsense, and NO i dont click my own ads nor do I encourage others. Rather I think it is someone going through the list of proxies on proxy.org and getting the ones with adsense kicked off. If you go and read the proxy.org forums, there are some threads in regards to this matter.
No, Im not an idiot that posts adsense ads on surfing pages. Have you even been to my proxy you would know that none of the rules were being broken. It was for invalid clicks, and alot of other proxy owners are having the same problem.
Well you should really be monitoring it. I take a CVS database of all the clicks made on my adsense account, page info, ip etc and submit it to adsense every month for review.
THey dont really care, when there is suspicous activity they send you a form email about invalid clicks and how they may withhold earnings which they deem to be invalid and than BAM banned. I saw a high CTR one day and contacted them about it twice, and still I got banned, Im just telling you guys to be careful/
Just a query on the adsense ban. If you are using adsense code on say 10 different websites, and due to some problem at one of your website, you get banned. What happens here, does your whole account and all your websites get banned or just the one with the problem?
I've halted my proxy server. The amount of bandwidth it was using was rediculous. I'd have to implement bandwidth limits on it or something to make it worth it. People were just using it to download porn anyway. Hardly a noble cause to keep it running. Total Visits 5635 Total KBytes 3545899 Compare that to my Open Directory mirror Total Visits 21432 Total KBytes 890365 4 times the visitors and a quarter of the bandwidth so far this month. DMOZ also brings in well over $100 a month. I don't have enough visitors on the proxy to put ads on it and that could get me banned from adsense. Sure, it might be easy visitors with a little effort but from my short experiment I can't see it being worth it. The bandwidth costs are just too much.
I have about 200 daily uniques for a few days and have zero clicks on adsense. Maybe there is better solution to convert proxy traffic?
You should try http://bannerconnect.net it's CPM advertising which allows proxies. I'm getting $0.50 on popups every 30seconds, and $0.09 on mixed 728/468 banners.
Just signed up for that now, thansk sohan Also my adsense earnings have improved rapidly, im now earning over $15 a day and it is rising each and every day
As long as the ads are only on the main page I can't see why not? For anybody advertising with adwords for their proxy site, having ads on other proxies is exactly what they want. Take ads away from proxies and where would these paid ads show up?
If you want some traffic, add your site to some proxy sites. These 2 are good: www.prospector.cz www.awesomeproxies.com They require reciprocal links, but its worth it.
Bannerconnect is not accepting any new proxy sites now. This is what they have to say "our TOS has changed a few months ago. This change contains that we aren't allowed anymore to accept proxy sites."
