That's what I'm seeing for some keywords. It's rather alarming. What are the possibilities of programs out there targeting competitors search terms? What I mean is a program that searches a specific term, follows competitor links and then returns right back to Google yielding 100% bounce rate? The reason I ask is lately, I've seen these search terms have stats of 0:00 time on site 0% new visits and 100% bounce rate on say 50+ visits for one day. What tipped me off was searches on terms that organically have dropped off, things like searches for Valentine's Day keywords. But I also notice much higher bounce rates for regular items on low traffic days. Maybe suggesting that those 50 hits are having a greater effect. It seems very odd. Any thoughts? A recent glitch? Anyone else seeing this in their Analytics?
don't rely on analytics 100%. I've seen strange things in my statistics as well. Install w3 and other free tracking as well. There will be discrepancies...
It could be robot traffic to your site maybe? However, i'd really recommend a different stat system such as AWStats
