Hi guys, I've been reading the articles on this forum for a couple of months now but now i'm in a really big dilemma. I have customised my google ads, making them seam into the page and everything! and yet most days I will have 500 impressions or more with no clicks at all!! Here is my site: http://bf2lag.b0x.com any tips or reccomendations would be gratefully received Ben, p.s 0.0% on chitika too
Same Result but Not Exactly Like You Im About 5 to 6 Clicks Per 100 Impression I Dont Know How Just My Luck Is Good At The Time
hmm yeah, red and blue are a bit too contrasting i suppose what do you think about the grey background? does that work? i put that in because i thought the white was a bit harsh on the eyes
i'm like you too, guitarjunkie.but really the color scheme is too contrsating. you need to improve on traffic too,
guitarjunkie66: nobody will click on your ads 'cause they see they're ads. There're two ways to get a click: or the person who clicks doen't know it was and ad or he saw the ad so good so he get interested.
thanks a lot for your help guys im working on a new site with new ads now ill upload it later thanks again! ben,
Take it OFF!! Wait.. are we talking about his clothes (assuming he's hot ) or the advertisement part! J/K Be sure to take off that text mentioned above otherwise the big G is going to give you the big Axe!
Axed for that? The first day I placed ads I mentioned it on my blog would that be a violation as well? I think I wrote something like 'you may have noticed I added ads'
ok lol sorry about that! its taken off now and i've also changed the homepage a bit, I changed the theme to white and black and put the ad in the top left, should i add any more ads on this page do you think? is one best? or should i add another thin box at the bottom of the text? thanks for your help
Maybe try to explain what BF2 lag is. I for example haven't got a clue about it. Though, it might be interesting for me to know. And when I know, I might start to browse your site and maybe even click an ad EDIT: OK, so BF2 is a game. Guess your visitors would already know that
But you still need to give a brief intro on what BF 2 is, how is it different from 1945, the multiplayer emphasis, etc. after all, you also want to attract NEW visitors. some people might play BF2 but havent got a clue what BF stands for, or what the lag is. you want these people to be interested in your site. and as for the ads, the only labeeling you can do is "sponsored links" or "advertisements". any other than that is a violation.
Doing a quick google for "bf2" vs "battlefield 2" it doesn't look like Google knows what bf2 is. Maybe you should change your text and make sure that you mention "battlefield 2" a lot more. You could also change your URLs so that they're more obvious too ("battlefield_2_tips_1.html"). Throw in other good keywords like "games", "first person shooter". Just some ideas...
Your website has a VERY niche audience -- uniqueness is good thing. The downside is that your audience is likely more of a "geeky" audience -- and geeks don't click ads. The WORST CTR I've ever seen repeatedly is from the gamers. They know ads, they run AdBlock, and they usually won't click anything. You might have better luck expanding your content to include a general FAQ about the game, and include content with the big catch phrases (Sony PS2, XBox, etc) if they are appropriate to your site.
