Most of the sites, which come up when I search Google, are still relevant to what I am searching for, so to the average user Google still looks great. However, with time they may not looks so great if only a few web sites provide most of their current content. I make some pretty strange requests when searching sometimes. I’ve even been known to enter a serial number from a modem to find out who really made the darn thing. The new Google system is very good when searching for common terms, but I’m wondering what will happen down the road when someone else wants to do a very detailed search query like entering a serial number of a modem or something else which is very rarely done.

Several years ago I heard someone from Google say that 50% of their searches each day were unique. The current system works pretty well for common search patterns, which they know about. However, its those off the wall kinds of things that may suffer at some point down the road.

Update: As posted at the beginning of this thread, today on the Tracker I see 30 red results (and one token green). Tomorrow will undoubtedly see virtually all green and little or no red.

My theory remains that Google is doing domain-wide stuff with their daily "everflux".
