    why does it cost £299 to get registered on yahoo, if your listed on all the other engines you get listed on yahoo anyway, are there any other advantages to paying the £299

    No, better to spend the money for adwords.

    You just pay that money for being registered in their directory nobody looks at and has nothing to do with increasing your rankings in their search engine.

    Don't forget, they recently changed that to a yearly subscription of £299, it's not a one off anymore. Way tooooo much for way tooooo little.

    They recently changed it to... Free submission! Don't have the link here at home but search these forums in the Yahoo section and you'll find the link to free commercial submissions.

    Yes, there is a free submission and it's here http://dir.yahoo.com you must login with your account.

    My site was included until to recent updates.

    But maybe they change their mind again.
