Hi, My client wants to sell the ability to upload a product to a website. Paypal is the chosen gateway. I'm really a beginner when it comes to payment processing, is there any ideas and advice anybody could give me? the idea is to let users register with the website. When they want to upload a listing to the website, they will have to pay £1 before they are allowed to. As the developer how do I restrict access to the upload area UNTIL the person has paid. Is there an easy way to do this?
£1 payment isn't good for using Paypal as the paypal fees will eat up a lot of the payment... even at micro payment processing rates. It may be a better option to look at something like "listing packages": 5 listings for £5 10 listings for £10 25 listings for £20 Otherwise you may just as well have them free as paypal would be taking too much of the £1 payment. I can't really help with restricting the ability to list something before payment is accepted...
That's a good idea, Ill certainly put that to the client. Does anybody know of a way to sell credits instead then. For example, £5 for 5 credits. Costs 1 credit to make a listing. The problem I seem to be having is getting from the payment processing page of paypal back to the website + updating the database with however many credits have been bought
