I got 13p yesterday from Adsense - yay!

It was stuck at 35p for so long I thought I was going to go mad.

    Yes, I mean balance.

For a newbie, that's very exciting.

Oh, since January. However, I've been getting 1,000+ visitors a day lately, but I have been working really hard to get more traffic.

    I see. If you're getting 1k UV's a day you should be earning £5-10 a day!

You should experiment with Ad placement. You might be wise to Google some Adsense tips too.

These days its always usually better to use Responsive Adsense code, it gets better CPC/CPM and good for your mobile visitors too.

Call me when you get your first paycheck and I'll help you celebrate lol ;)

Indeed. However, as @Mkcoy mentioned, your site seems to be underperforming with CTRs.
You probably should be looking into ads optimization.

ps: Have you checked the source of your traffic?

Most of it comes from Facebook, with some coming from Twitter and some direct traffic from search engines.

I have just added some more ads to the actual articles, and it's going up every time I look at it now. We're on £1.04 so far today!

Oh, good. At least you know it's human traffic!
    0.13p to £1.04 in a single day? That's an 800% jump!
When you get an 800% increase on anything, you're obliged to do a cartwheel or two. ;)

Thanks. My site has been doing really well for the past few days. I'm not sure whether to start increasing the number of ads or moving them to other places, since I don't want it to look all 'addy' and spammy.

Move the ads placement if your cpc are low. Check out big site that similar to yours, try copy the way they place their ads. Keep changing it until you satisfied with your cpc.

I usually just place 1 ads on most of my site. I don't like it when it look spammy too. Only some micro niche site I don't really like very much, I place 3 ads lol.
