what is considered updated content?

We all know how much google likes updated content, but how much new content does it takes for G to consider a page as "updated"? A new image? a new alt tag? a new price? the inclusion of today's date? a revised title? a new paragraph? a new link? a new page? a new page structure?

Does the size of the change matter or is an update an update, no matter how small? Is it the more new content, the better?

At least a while back, some were reporting that even trivial changes--right down to a few blank spaces added or subtracted--was apparently enough.

Heaven knows, though, that there are enough tools and toys around to tack ever-changing content onto any and every web page. (I have a site that specializes in such things--SEO Tools, Toys, and Packages, as in the sig line below).

    Definetly NOT an alt tag.,....

    Think of it this way.....

What would you, as the human end user, consider updated content?

Whatever the answer is - will do best....

    For what it is worth...

I have an internal page on my site that has a PR6 rating. It has greater than 2000 links to it.

Last summer it slipped from position#25 (June 5) for a particular keyword to position #46 (June 12) to position #144 (June 25) to position #316 (July 19) to position #NOT FOUND in serps (Aug 1)!!!!!

The page remained NOT FOUND until Aug. 20! WTF???

For some reason I checked the cache of the page (with high PR, numerous links, and many new links added - I assumed...) and found the cache had NOT been updated since early June.

At that point I opened the page for editing and without making any changes - accept I have a line in the headers <meta name="Date" content="1/8/05"> where I changed the date, hit save and uploaded the page to the site. This just changed the "timestamp" on the page.

The very next day the cache on Google was updated!
Aug. 21 the page was at position #48
Aug. 22 the page was at position #22
Aug. 24 the page was at position #14

This is the experimental page that we have been documenting daily since April 7, 2004
and reporting on in the "nice tool.." thread here on this message board.

Here is the documented daily data Complete Report

On page factors is very important in website SEO, I think begin on page optimization would have to standardized for website then you have not more hard work in off page optimization.. You may be provided fast SERP from any key phrase.

Not just the partial update, at least some new contents. Either it is a text paragraph or the images with the alt tags in it. But, be sure that you've placed the links to the old content/pages from the new page (updated page or homepage), it's very important thing which should be considered to make our website/page stand in the Google index and also to help google crawlers to find the pages easily.

Yes, the updation of the content is usually counted by Google. Updating of content, images, pages added. Google counting the content quite frequently may be within hours or 1-2 days. I think, the size of the updating content doesn't matter.
