Adsense ads with next and back buttons

I just noticed this today on one of my sites, Adsense ads that have "next" and "back" buttons under them so that you can cycle through the ads.

Is this new? I wonder how cycling through the ads affects impressions? Can I cycle through ads on my own pages?

It's not something new. This feature was introduced a few weeks ago.
It didn't improve the CTR / earnings for me though.

I noticed those on one of my sites today too. I clicked the back and next arrows, kinda a cool feature, not sure it'll improve any CTR's though. Does anyone ever really "look" for an ad?

I never noticed this before and I don't think this will help in improving the click-through rate :( :(

Yeah, they've been around a couple month's mate, nothing to new. Nothing happen's when you click the arrows, as they just move and you don't get credited for it. So I suppose you could.

well,I noticed it about one month ago.I think there's no problem to cycle through own ads as long as you don't click on own ads.

Yeah, good point. I don't think any organic visitors would cycle through your ads looking for something in particular!..... Now that you mention this I don't really understand the point of the buttons.

Actually they have been in place since at least December 12th, when I noticed them.

I reported on this at the time:
