Blogged about this earlier today. If they push for international recognition (AOL was mainly based in the US) they should be alright in the long run. If they are trying to promote it in the US more than they should, waste of money.

My opinion, of course. Depends on their marketing strategy.

Both of them aren't the front runners in their respective fields, both added up won't result in any winners from what I see.

Yes I think this is a good deal, AOL Wouldnt bid for somehting if they didnt think it was profitable, Imagine how many teenegera go on that nd have mobile phones, They probally could sell ringontes or something because of the huge teenage market for it!

I've heard of Bebo, and have even browsed the site. But I had no idea any company would value it for anywhere near this amount.

I remember when it was just a tiny little site being advertised on Photobucket, but it's huge now in the UK. A bit like Myspace but with much prettier code. It's very web 2.0 and user-friendly, but it doesn't have as big a network of artists as sites like Myspace have, AOL might just give it the push it needs to go global.

Bebo is largely responsible for Britain's teenage chav craze, where it's fun to tell stories and post videos of teenage gangs beating lonesome teenages to death, talk about getting drunk on BuckFast, which if I remember correctly, is largely referred to as 'FuckFast'

Lookin' for a local drug dealer? Just search Bebo.
