    Google Co-Founders move up on the Forbes Richest 400 Americans List.

    Larry Page 33, and Sergey Brin 32, are steadily moving on up. Two years ago, they broke into the billionaire club putting them in the top 100 richest Americans. Last year, the two Google (GOOG: Research, Estimates) founders tied for No. 43 with $4 billion each, after their online search engine went public in August.

    Now the two are tied again, but this time at #16.

    They simply got the backing and inspired the confidence they needed to remain afloat. Quite the achievement, but don't overlook the bigger picture. {enough envy ?? ;)}

    Cheers,

    I'm jealous of Sergey Brin and Lawrene Page, though jealousy doen't mean much. They are younger than Donald Trump with a whole lot more money. They can do whatever they want. They still have a lot of time ahead of them. I wonder what it takes to get to that level, to the billion dollar forbes level....

    Doesn't it seem interesting to anyone other than me that companies doing Brick/Mortar stuff like Walmart are able to be soooo successful nominally? Looking at the family, they are way ahead of bill gates if you combine their wealth... For some reason when I think of the really rich people in the world I think of oil magnates and tech gods. Anyway, this is sort of off-topic, but I'm really impressed by WalMart as a business.

    Yes, Wal-Mart is impressive as a business, but I was always more impressed with Sam Walton as a business owner who had a great vision.

    Also, you'll see that some of the Walton clan on the list got their riches from him, not from their own ideas and hard work.

    Yes, which makes it all the more impressive to me. It's not like we see 5 people with "Gates" as their last name in the top 20.. :)

    Im not overly impressed by them myself - they have a basic business concept...buy low / sell high.

    The fact that they put massive pressure on their suppliers in China to drop pricing shows bully boy methods......actually come to think of it I really dislike this company.

    Not really that amazing. They are the biggest retail business in the world and I'd guess that when it comes down to it, global retail is probably the biggest business market there is.
    It is impressive that someone has enough vision to drive a company to becoming as big as they have.
