Google geographical seo result - its really true

    my some of site showing result at first page in google.com in india while in usa it showing on 3rd page, why this happen ?

    is google take update geographical now ?

    also india based seo resource will not help , bcoz it shows differ result, i heard usa based database will help better ?

    pls clarify my query.

    Yes Google and some of the other search engines have been using geographical targeting for a while now. If you want rankings in a particular region, you have to convince Google that your website is relevant for that region. To do that, here are some things you can do:
    -ensure your website is hosted in the target country..registering the domain in that country may help too, but that may just be theory
    -ensure that you have a physical address listed on your website for that country...again that might be theory
    -most importantly, you need plenty of quality links from websites that are also relevant for that country
    -in Google Webmaster Tools you can set you target country if you just care about rankings in one country

    another important point is .. that where are you getting more visitors from... for instance if more people from India are visiting your site... it would be targeted to your country

    From what i read it seems it can target even the county/city not just the country.

    If i search "real estate companies" from a town it gives me a site targeted to that town that has a list with the real estate companies from that town. If you search from another town the same phrase and google thinks there is no local site relevant it will give you some national portals or something like that.
