Have you seen the new Ad Format for AdSense?

    AdLinks by Google

I believe is going to increase CTR by a large amount, since they look a lot less like ads than the current formats.

    Excellent!

Ps. Look very similar to DP’s Co-op Ads. ;)

try inserting this into your google adsense code
    google_ad_format = "200x90_0ads_al_s";
    Code (markup):
It works! now it only shows the links. I checked my adsense account, a bunch of new regulations, checking it out now.
You can get the new Ad Links codes in your account!

An interesting development. Not entirely unexpected since Google really need to boost the number of clickable links displayed.

I do wonder, however, how long it will be before people begin to avoid them since they will obviously be displayed in such a way as to appear to be part of the web site on which they appear by many webmasters. Savvy surfers will quickly begin to avoid clicking onto link ads that take them 'unexpectedly' to new sites.

Now if Google could work out a way to make the information appear onmouseover then they may just take off...
(commissions from Google for this nugget of common sense: please deposit in my adsense account, thank you)

Please help me to understand why users would want to browse a directory of ads?

Seriously... I can't believe that my users would purposefully browse a directory which consists of nothing but ads.

How well are the PPC directories doing?

If you run G's adlinks will it violate their new TOS to show other external textlinks on the same page - e.g. coop ad network ads or sold text links?

I believe it was a violation of G's old TOS to run ads that looked similar to Google Ads.

Careful checking of the new TOS needed.

It seems like google haven't checked that their new settings is possible to do in firefox.

If you set up the Ad links unit in Firefox you get code that is corrupt. Do it in IE and it works!

purposefully being the key word ... and of course ... being adsense, the ads will be so inline with your content ... it will look like internal navigation.

Obviously, Google is following the advice of all savvy publishers and webmasters, and trying to integrate ads with page regular contents and layout, basically to increase CRT.

At the end, remember that Google and publishers are on the same boat.

Oh, boy... now back to good ol' Frontpage and start moving things around...

I use buttons to point to the pages in my site. I now need to take them out and replace them with plain links so I can integrate this new Google stuff... Can't wait to see my new CTR!!! :D

I am having problems using Ad Links. It keeps on using one style when I want a different one. I've tried everything and it keeps going to the same style that I don't want to use.
