Looks like Googlebot will soon be able to understand JavaScript soon... At least that's what GoogleGuy over and WMW mentioned... - Shawn
Hmm That ties in with that post of mine re javascript redirects: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=55 It is already here - has been for a week
Well from what it sounds like, they are going to go further... instead of simple JS links, it will understand JavaScript completely... - Shawn
Hmm..... again!!! Shawn what do you think the biggest implication of this is? Since the discovery of the JS redirect problem with Google I have been taking them off on those places where I was being lazy - with immediate return results. But I don't use it much elsewhere - only associated with php etc.....so?.....thoughts...
Not sure to be honest... but if you are doing "sneaky" things (as far as Google is concerned) with JavaScript, they probably won't work any longer (once they deploy the new bot). - Shawn
With all that excessive computational capacity, Google can index almost any web technology that exists. No question about that.
Kasparoff, how did you find that thread it's over 3 years old(with no posts in it) anyways, it's interesting to hear about googlebot understanding javascript (btw, I guess google is already doing it to certain extent)
i think dp must close all the threads which is not being replied after thread creation date. i think this is one of the old threads on dp
It is kinda of cool thou to see how the web has progressed over the years , Kinda like finding buried treasure with these threads A small walk back in time ,ahhhh...ok Back to work for me
It is a good news for for all the SEOs. Once Google bot start reading Javascript, you can be free developing and designing our web page. Can you please inform me whether Google confirmed on this?
