Amen from me!! I am one of those "end users" who is certainly no webmaster but who uses the tools at hand to get what I need when I need it, and my main tool for getting information from the Web has always been Google because it works so well. When Google starts making my choices for me, I find it irritating and distracting and I feel a bit talked down to. Whether it succeeds in the long run will depend on how many of us still prefer to think for ourselves.

It's like going to the restaurant and while ordering the waiter keep finishing your sentences and recommend what they think is good for you.. In general people who try to complete your sentences before you finish them are considered rude. I'm not sure what time saving they are talking about.. few seconds? I think it's great idea but it's also confusing, all the search results changing etc.. they should keep google simple and neat. the only benefit I could see from it is using the google instant to pull the most searchable inquiries/keywords.

I'd say this makes the life of website admins tough. All sites which rank high for a 3-4 word phrase will now see a huge drop in visitors. It's going to benefit one letter top 5 placed sites, most of which are the big guns. So small site owners will have it tough now.

I quite like it, but it can be annoying sometimes too.

I don't like it, but it could succeed if Google will profit from adwords next month because of higher competition.

you can make a blog and place interesting photo travel reports from people and then suggest your links to social bookmarks. if people would like these reports, they will vote for your blog and you will get lots of visitors with more reports, etc.

I think it is extremely buggy, currently returning far fewer results than with it switched off

Google instant sucks! It requires search in limited keywords. Now the research will become less diverse.
To Google team : Turn it off by default please.. I don't like to turn it off every time I use google in different computer.
    Instant holy shit!

I think it is bad for SEO consultants who promise you to achieve first page google rankings. I have written an article on this on my blog Socialat.com - Make Money Blogging and one of my readers have posted a strong point supporting this point as a comment. Do check out and let me know what others think. This is a nice thread and I'll keep following it.

    Cheers,
    Socialat.
