Yes I agree. Its ok to have great content but no good if no-one can find it in a search. You need SEO too. Good article though with regards just to content. Writing content is the easy(ish) bit, getting traffic is another thing.
As far I have understood, you need big amount of unique visitors and very good niche to make blogging your full-time job.
I am learning as well that articles are the key to original content. Google loves unique content. With links back to your site in your article you can't lose. Anyone had good experience with paid traffic? I know it is bad in google eyes. But a little can't hurt can it? I don't think I will try and get banned from Google or something like that. I just added a article to Standard Legal and it got me 2 referals already in 1 week. These backlinks happen fast.
