How much money is enough for you to retire now?

Would you retire now if you had $1billion or would you decide to do even more and increase that amount?

How much money is enough for you to say ok I don't need to and don't ever want to work for the rest of my life?

I's say I can retire to a comfortable life with just $1 million USD. That's already nearly 50 millions pesos when converted to my currency :D

I think it would be able to live happily ever after if I had 1 billion dollars.

Absolutely. 1 Billion is sufficient to live the rest of your life comfortably. 1 Million though won't cut it. Then again, most rich people who work aren't doing it for the money.

"What is enough" is so subjective!

But a billion dollar should be more than sufficient for anyone!

No need to think of retire for at least 15 years from now :rolleyes: So can't think about how much money is enough after my retirement as of now.

BTW this is my working age (not retirement age) :p

I don't think I'll retire on the basis of how much money I make, but more of my age and how I feel. Once I start making enough money to retire, I'll start donating some to charity, like Bill Gates.

In my life I have been well off and not so well off and no matter what anyone tells you, having money is better than not having it. That said, as I have grown older - money is much less important to me now as it was say 20 years ago. Something happens around middle age which changes the attitude of many people in regards to the accumulation of wealth. Don't get me wrong, having enough money to travel and do all the things you want to do is important - but unfortunately the desire to become mega rich is something that will never bring happiness to anyone.

For me, if I had enough money in retirement to pay all my bills and be able to travel a few times a year to locations that I would love to visit, then I was be happy. That retirement dream, for me, could be achieved on about 50K per year - USD. I know that amount of money may seem small to some of you, but it is amazing how far you can get your money to go when you sit down and make a plan on how to spend it instead of just wasting it at ever turn like I did when I was a young man.

If I did accumulate that sort of wealth..at any age in my life....I would definitely stop working for money at that very moment and get involved in a nice social cause for the rest of life.

well I think you should also think about having residual income streams, not just one lump sum of money.
