It is not best to always go with the cheapest. I recommend sticking with a established site like Namecheap.com or Godaddy.com. I am not sure if this is still godd but GoDaddy had a coupon for 99 cents. Code 99DOMAIN

Don't go for the cheapest, go for the safest. I recommend Dynadot.

The cheapest .com you can get is in godday.com. I need to "warn" you about their great sales pages. Sales pages never ended. They keep on promote new cheap offers to you every time you click checkout. You may end up buying a cheap .com for more than 30mins to 1 hours, very time consuming.

Other alternative is namecheap.com. They are not so strong in pushing sales page compare to godaddy.com.

Tow popular registers are MyDomain.com and you can get .com, .org etc for $7.88 or with coupon "bargaincat.com" or Dotster for $8 with coupon "bargaincat".

I agree, use GoDaddy with the promo code. There really aren't any catches to their promo offers (that I've seen). It's what I do.

I use Namecheap. Search google for namecheap coupons for current deals.
I registered countrymusicvideos.info and did a domain name transfer and had the website up in 1 day.
I have tried other Domain registrars and have had to wait up to one week for the domain to be registered, how lame is that

I use GoDaddy for all my domain names for several reasons.
1.They have a user-friendly website (alltough it is slow)
    2. For selling purposes
    3. They have good offers from time to time, like the 99DOMAIN a few days ago.
    4. You get the domain name quick.

NEVER host your site at GoDaddy, this is awfully expensive and you even have to pay extra for statistics..

My experience with 1&1 is really bad. They have a complicated transfer system, and the support is really slow. Also they use days just to register the domain you just bought (if you are lucky they even do).

Remember the free .biz domain 1&1 were giving out a few months ago? Never got mine, it's still pending. lol..

I just tried getting one at GoDaddy.com with that promo code, and it wouldn't work. Nor would the $1.99 deal, unless you jump through hoops and purchase other stuff that you don't really need. It's really only good if you're set out to spend tons of money on other unnecessary things.

All I wanted was a domain name for $5.00 or under, period. You can't get that any where I'm guessing, so, I just funded my Namecheap.com account with $5.00 and hope to sell some stuff off for the remainder monies I need to get one sigh.

P.S. It sucks when you search for a place for $5.00 domain registrations and get there to only find out this.. "Get a 1 dollar domain registration today! But wait! You need to buy this hosting plan, that hosting service and this thing for 10 dollars to 50.00 and then you'll get that 1 dollar domain! Sign up today!!" Pfft please... sorry!

P.S.S And it's sad shame too, to have to spend $8.xx or whatever dollars on keeping your domain registration information private. Most places provide that FREE with the domain registration cost.
