Nifty Windows Vista Trick

Not sure how many are using Vista but I have it on a new laptop I purchased and stumbled across this little trick that I thought I would share.

Holding down the Windows key and a number key, opens the program at that numbers position on your quick launch bar. So if Firefox is the 3rd item on your quick launch bar and you hold down Windows key and 3, it will launch.

Pretty cool for keyboard shortcut junkies.

You can hot key (shortcut key) your desktop icons to launch

    1. right click on your desktop icon
    2. select the properties options
    3. press a letter in the comment box next to shortcut key
    4. Voila ^_^ you can launch Firefox or w/e program you want

(So far I've noticed you can only do it using ALT+CRTL+(#))

Did you notice that they took out the run command from the start menu in Vista?

You can add it back by right clicking on the start menu > properties > start menu tab - customize box > check the run command box.

And you can always start the run command by pressing the windows button and "R".

Nice! Particularly like the Windows Button + R
I've been trying to find an easy way to get the run command.
