Craigslist clone - copyright issues

    A friend of mine has almost completed development of a classifieds script which he plans to release as open source, that looks almost similar to craigslist including the font, color - size and style.

    Would there be any copyright issues by doing it that way?.

    Only if the logo or name is the same would you have a problem, i seen many classifieds clone scripts of craigslist.

    I don't think you will have any problems, as long as you don't say your craigslist or act in anyway that people coming to your website think you are craigslist.

    What about saying its a craigslist clone? Can he still advertise it as a clone of craigslist.com?

    This script is a free script. So, I dont think there is need to refer craigslist or to say its a craigslist clone.
