is it possible to spend 2000$ to build a website that would make 400$ per month?

hi everyone, long time no posting, i hope you all are well.
I have a few little websites and i make around 100 bucks a month but i have to spend a lot of my time on link building, optimizing, etc. to keep the income up.
the problem is i am a student and its very hard to pass the exams and i need to spend more time with my studies, which means i have to put my web things aside.
I have accumulated 2-3 k dollars and i want to build something that wont require a lot of my time and would make a steady income of at least 400USD per month?
If you have a solid project, i am willing to go partners.
or any other suggestions.

If i have 3k $ i would purchase 3-5 years old domain first. After you can pay freelancers for rewriting and posting articles to your website. Approx. 2-5$ per post.

 

well thanks but again, I need something that could be quickly installed.
add content, optimize it, work out the keywords, get links, etc. its just too much time to spend.

 

Spending more money on a website doesn't mean it is going to run itself.

You need to spend the money on seo or advertising if you want to spend your time on studies.

but still i need a website that will convert the traffic to money.

You and every other new webmaster out there... =)

Your best bet is to buy something that is already making this kind of money. You won't be able to build it easily from scratch without a lot of hard work.

So visit the marketplace forum here and at sitepoint.com and find yourself a decent content site that is established and has a few years of solid earnings history...

Your best bet is to find a site already making this amount, like suggested above. I highly doubt you buying a new site tomorrow will meet your expectations with minimal work. $2,000 isn't really much if you're paying someone else to build the site for you... and even if, you're idea obviously won't be unique with that type of cash.

The only problem with trying to buy a site that makes $400/month is it's not going to be as cheap as $2K (of course, assuming it's legit).

I would definitely say it's possible, perform your due diligence, aim for the sites making $150 or so that are under-developed but aged 3-4 years, take it for 12-15 hundred, monetise the hell out of it (without sacrificing content) and spend the rest on either PPC or banners that are directly targeted at your demographic.

Now would be s good time to buy as people are short at this time of year and may give you a better deal (especially in the economic crap we are in) and hopefully you should be ready to capitalise when people get their January paychecks.

With a bit of positive thinking and finding the right site you can easily do it.

 

So many people on this site seem to be looking to just make money.

Why not just make a site about something you enjoy rather than always looking to force money out of things.
