I am on XP right now but I am open to the new Windows 7, it might be different from its previous version. Let us just hope for the best (and expect for the worst). :)

So far, Windows 7 looks, behaves, and performs almost exactly like Windows Vista. And it breaks all sorts of things that used to work just fine under Vista. In other words, Microsoft's follow-up to its most unpopular OS release since Windows:eek:

drhowarddrfine noone said that Windows 7 will be a totally different OS. In fact, even Microsoft said that it will be an improved version of Vista, which means that you can consider it SP3 for Vista (since SP2 is work in progress right now).

    I haven't try neither vista nor windows 7 .
But the name of next generation of MS has been changed many times , from longhorn to vista, and then to windows 7 .
I have used my friend's pc with vista . I believe it is a imitation of MacOS, lol .

Screw windows, they suck, but those assholes should stop the bullshit gossip unless they have the latest build of the system, which I doubt.

Just bought a Vista machine, fingers crossed hoping for a non-disaster. Anyone know good tricks for speeding up Vista? I don't need a lot of the animations, graphics, extra garbage running

I wish someone would cast a spell and magically replace all of these nagging individuals' operating systems with Linux or any Mac OS's, then they can see what a cumbersome, @ss backwards operating system is. I have been using Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit for quite some time and have not had a single issue. The difference in my case to most people is that I run on a custom system with quality hardware.

According to most complaints, a 64-bit custom built system like mine should actually produce twice if not three times the issues as a standard 32-bit system from a major manufacturer. Yet I am not, knock on wood, any issues ever.

This thread is just the result of stupid perpetuating assumptions that XP is better than Vista. It isn't.

At this point, nobody should be able to make ANY assumptions of Windows 7, it's still in the early stages of development. I can remember having tons of issues when running XP builds, in it's development stage. This is what beta testers are for!

As for the topic, one could easily say "OSX Leopard is OSX Tiger, OSX Tiger is OSX Panther" and so on. Just like "Vista is XP, XP is Windows 2000". It's an irrelevant statement that shows people don't understand the concept of streamlining existing code to make something better. It's called innovation!

Vista is extremely underrated. It is terrible on old systems, but it is absolutely amazing on a system with a decent processor and 2gb+ of RAM (basically, any system pre-installed with vista nowadays). Vista gets a bad rap, but Linux driver issues are there too (from experience with Ubuntu, Fedora, and Mandrake). Macs are closed systems so they obviously don't deal with driver issues.

Are you sure you are posting in the right thread cause that sentence means nothing in this context.
Oh. So that explains why there are no Windows drivers issues? Get a clue.
