Well I don't know how but am just curious to know why you need to contact them... is there any particular reason?

Probably wants to bribe the corrupt DMOZ editor to get listed, but watch out for those double-corrupt DMOZ editors, they'll pretend to be corrupt, only to steal your bribe.

Then there's the triple-corrupt ones, they aren't even DMOZ editors, just pretend to be, and corrupt at that, then they disappear into the night.

How about we just set up an area for this, and find "trusted corrupt DMOZ editors"

Haha, how's that for a contradiction. I'll pay $1,000 or more for a listing. I have hired an employee part-time, who's sole purpose is to get me into the ODP. He's having minimal success...

Damnit, I'll pay $10,000! WHATEVER IT TAKES!!! FRIGGIN HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLl

So, you've hired someone to become an ODP editor, work up through the ranks until he (or she, I guess) has enough rights to edit in the areas in which you need influence?

I have a friend who recently got listed through a corrupt editor. LOL. All he needed to do was give the guy some back links from one of his sites. :p

Now, that being said. I would never deal with these corrupt DMOZ editors. In fact, I wouldn't deal with the non-corrupt DMOZ editors.

Why? What do you think you would gain if you did get listed? I can tell you that it won't be anything worth even close to $10,000. Are you just looking for something to throw money away on? Hell, just send it to me. I'll find a use for it.

Congratulations! You win the most ignorant post of the year award!

Do you really think that backlink and the few visitors you may get monthly are worth $10,000? Hell, it's not worth $100. Jeez! Ten grand could be much, much more effectively spent on promotion.

Yes but PROOF is kind of thin on the ground isn't it ?

Just like UFO's the 'corrupt editor' is something a lot of people believe in as absolute fact and many will swear blind and have voiced experiences of fleeting sightings here and there.

The evidence however, amounts to hearsay, conspiracy theories and in those who sooo want to believe in them and their exsistance that, somehow, they will fit almost any story round that 'possible' one sighting in their lifetime.:). And a few will go so far in their beliefs as to speculate that ALL editors are corrupt.

    Proof seems universally elusive though..?

    Beam me up Scottie.

Well, I can tell you that I know some corrupt things that have happened regarding DMOZ. But I certainly would not rat the people out on this forum just to provide DMOZ editors with proof. I would guarantee that many, many other people on this forum also know or have taken part in these shady dealings with corrupt DMOZ editors. But why would they want to provide proof about their shady dealings? And of course, no corrupt editor is likely to post proof in this thread.

There really is just two options. (1) Everything people say about DMOZ corruption is just a big conspiracy to undermine the whole organization. (2) There is truth to most (or even just a few) of the allegations people make. Now, which of these choices seem the most likely?

Surely, you're not trying to claim that corrupt editors do not and have never existed.

You might want to consult with your DMOZ "superiors" about that one and about various editors who have been dismissed for cause over the years.

There is already an area set up for this purpose in DMOZ, just add /adult to the DMOZ url. ;)

And, voila! The most (by his own admission) corrupt editor (or is it ex-editor by now?) of the ODP shows up for the dance! Hello gworld!! :D
