I thought i would share with you my lucky escape with a blatant low life piece of crap scammer. I sold 2 products from my website totaling $300 and sent them by singed for courier with online tracking. I received an email from the buyer a week later saying the delivery had been signed for by someone else at her address but was not her who signed for it so she filed a dispute, bang there goes $300 HARD EARNED money out my account. I kept my cool and thought how can i get myself out of this one? I Googled her email address and bingo it came up on a myspace page. There was also a reference on that page to her boyfriends new venture which is a web design business with the URL. So i put the domain into whois and again bingo name address and phone number. I emailed her back and said..."Hello there we are really sorry about the delivery of your order and will rectify the problem right away. By the way does your boyfriend (name) still do web design as we desperately need a make over on our site and cant find anyone to do it, we would pay really good money for the right person and would be ongoing as we would need it maintained" An hour later she emailed back....."OH sorry I just found out my friend signed for the delivery she forgot to tell me silly me im having a blond hair day. How do you know my boyfriends name and is a web designer? yes he really could do with some work thanks very much, i just lifted the dispute can you give us more information about the work you require for your website? Got Ya! Money back in Paypal shes owned up to delivery Ive got my money back. Some people aye?
As per terms of Paypal you have sent the items via a trackable source, therefor who signs for it is irrelavent, you have proof the items were sent and delivered. So in that case her claim could and should have never been substaciated.
Glad to know that you have escape such scammer. I am not lucky for a scammer known as McLaughlin here on Digitalpoint. He never did pay me for the review of his site.
