For some keywords I follow, there are 4 results from google books in the top 10: go figure.
Right now, I'm doing searches on yahoo and having better results.

Definitely is something big going these last weeks. Maybe a major algo test/change is causing these strange results? I really don't get it.

Yes they do, they have share holders to answer to. I have shares and when they do this and sink to under $300 for the first time in 3 years and slash your investment in half in just 6 months it makes people concerned, especially coupled with the trash search results.

Also this isn't just a boo hoo i don't rank, because i do for lots of big keywords. I also have pages in the top 5 that are junk compared to sites back in the 50's and 100's.

Almost a month and same shitty results... This is a nightmare. Some queries got back to "normal" results, while others keep delivering spam.

I've never been critical on this forum but this is one of the biggest load of BS I've ever read here. You cannot rubbish and expect people to just sit back and just accept it.

The only thing Google owes anyone is top billing in their paid search if you're willing to big the highest.

    I'm done

You are definitely right on this. Typing a simple keyword will turn up sites filled with bunch of ads and nothing else. Obviously google is also vulnerable. They should focus on protecting their SE and not on other things like developing new tools.

Sheeet, yesterday i discovered that 3 of my sites (WPress on it, 1 post only, latin written - lorem ipsum) rank first page for 3 different keywords, simply because they have keywords in domain name + title tag.

    Now, how dumb is that?

If you're willing to "big" the highest?

No clue what you are smoking i'm afraid, but lets forget for a moment they owe it to their Shareholders (me) who have invested billions in their company to provide a return on that investment which they haven't done.. Sunk from $580 to $280 per share in just 6 months.

But they owe it to themselves to fix the garbage, right now Google is so exploitable it's not funny and there's no incentive to follow their "best practices" when sites that do get tossed in to the #100's and spam litters the top 20.

Personally i don't care, i know how to rank sites better than most.

scubita, funny you should mention that one of my sites landed on the front page today for terms like "T-Mobile Ringtones", "buy cheap phentermine" and about 1,000 others due to overnight spam... My site has absolutely nothing to do with Ringtones, Phentermine, Replica Handbags or anything else it ranks front page for.

    By your own words ...

    "junk sites"

Said it yourself. If they are making junk sites, they are still junk sites no matter what the reason.

Exactly right, they are junk sites and they are ranking and pulling big money. Not much incentive to make one quality site when Google ranks 50k doorway page sites made with the click of a button is there?

Nobody is perfect. Not even Google. In fact, Even vista is sometimes better than vista.

I have mixed opinions about Google.
The biggest the reason they are on top is because their original homepage was brilliantly simple, and so many people got used to using them.

Now that is dumb. Google is full of "glitchs" these days. Oh and yeah, my "one lorem ipsum post" sites, 3 of them, still ranking high

How's that Eddy? Everything fine now for some queries?

    Edit:

At this end everything stays pretty much the same. Yellow pages ranks #2 for a "italy holidays" similar keyword... pufff
