I have just wrote my latest article focusing on Google's new release of Search Wiki a new dynamic and advanced tool.

Search Wiki is this the end of SEO?

Is it the end of SEO?

Please take a read and voice your opinion.

i don't think this is the end of SEO. Millions of people will not customize their SERP in any way, i think

Yeah I know not everyone will customise their SERPs but most people in the Internet marketing industry will probably have a fiddle.

Will it effect traffic do you think?

Will the customization affect the "true" ranking of a site?

Well Google says not at first. However what if 100 people rank a certain site first for a keyword will that effect the true search results I am not sure and I dont think Google has made this clear either.

This isn't for the regular user, so I doubt it would have groundbreaking effects. Matt Cutts himself said the typical user doesn't even know image search exists on Google.

I agree with allow of you. because not every one customize and get the result in serp. if we will do this practical then i agree if i will get change ranking after customize this. I don't so think it will affect to serp but i will affect then its result has little change not more. I think so that change only particular login account.

    Not at all!

Thats something which is personalized. Google won't present something which is easily SPAMABLE or MANIPULATED. IMO it won't achieve success!

    Cheers

I understand all of this however whats to say that in the future Google won't use this sort of ranking as a part of the algorithm. Every part of SEO can be manipulated (black hat) however most see that Google is able to stop these from doing so just like they would be able to in this case.

I am talking more about internet marketing users and tech savvy users, these are the users which will/would personalise there results pages and these are the bloggers who may see an effect from this.

    Just an idea.
Thanks everyone for their input its an interesting topic to discuss.

    yep, won't effect in general.
Only few people will use to custmize the result. And google will take into account only if many people will change the postion of one site say 10000. as mentioned here http://searchengineland.com/google-searchwiki-launches-15561.php.
If that site is that popular I think it will be already ranking.
