Please post your requirements for hosting your site. I mean how much space and bandwidth you are looking for, how many mysql db's or email address etc.

If you have any special requirements please inform us that also.

I really doubt the quality of service you are expecting to get for $8/year. :( You should increase your budget a little bit.

If you only need to host a forum then I think my sShared 10 plan would be sufficient for you. Only $2.75/3 months or $10/year.

    http://www.sclek.com/shared

We also allow proxies, image/files hosting, and video/audio streaming!

Also, just to let you know on service as some people are talking about...
We have MSN Messenger Support, Live Support, Email Support, and Support Tickets. We are also located in 2 different timezones giving us a greater capability to provide more support.

As for our servers, we have a minimum of Core2Due with 2gb ram (most servers are Quad Core with 8gb Ram). We also have 100mbps uplinks.

Also, not to 'dis' another company but...
for $16/year for master reseller is really cheap. A company would have to sell 10 master reseller accounts a month just to keep the servers online. Only around 4 accounts if they have a cheap dedicated server.

As of right now, i am no interest in spending any more money. This is going to be something that i will do in my free time. I don't know if it will go big or just fail. This is just for fun and i am not as interested in quality right now.

    couldn't agree more

should do a little bit of research on a host before you take an offer and I am saying it for every host out there, I've heard too many sap stories in the past lol - just make sure you know what you are doing OP and you should be good

edit: I can't offer you a free domain but with Juna Web - you can use the code "FreeMo" to get 2 months free when you order annually

yea dont worry I'm not doubting you, It's just something I tell all of my friends and everyone else, doesn't matter how long they have been into the "webmastering" stuff - I've been doing it for 6-7 years heavily but I've made websites almost a decade ago (beginning of the millennium), of course they weren't as good but as time goes by we learn :)

also with spending as little as you can, you should also aim for quality, since it's a new project the last thing you want is stuff slowing you down - I learned the hard way with one of my old forums lol

good luck though! after all, we learn from experience and hopefully whatever you choose to do is a good exp for you

If anyone learned the hard way it was me. I am 16 and i start my first website making a forum ( a big no). Even though i lost almost $200 i learned so much from it. To this day, i have made it all back form other things but it was a great learning tool

lol i dont want to start an argument about who had it the harder way lol but what you just said is something that I've experienced twice already over the past two years and i regret it big time - and both times with the same forum lol...but meh..just like you I carried on and made back what I lost and I actually came back harder

I've also had a lot of other incidents from the past and yeah again. you only learn from experience

p.s. I was about 10 years old when i had my first site lol - free hosted and it was inspired by video gaming :D that's what launched my career actually
