What do you find to be the best payment processor for domain and website sales? I know for a fact people can get burned using Paypal, so are there any other options people will use?
Is I know in every payment processor, other than Egold a buyer can easily request a chargeback, but now Egold doesn't allow people to create new accounts.
If they're actually worth something, use an escrow service. This way, neither party accepts the transaction until they are both satisfied. It's a little more expensive, but is reliable and is the best way to do transactions like this.
You can always use PayPal and hold the funds for 30 days. Send the seller access to the website (keep a copy) and hold on to the domain until the transaction has passed the 30 day period allowed for filing a dispute! Of you can withdraw the funds upon completion (PayPal debit card) and deliver the site..
paypal masspay + signed contract with ID scanned or escrow. escrow still has some risk too. use moniker escrow instead of escrow.com.
With paypal, since virtual goods are not covered, a buyer could say they never got it and get a refund correct? So really the buyer is not protected and as the seller with no shipping information, I am not covered either correct? With the escrow services, the same is possible correct? They sent payment to escrow, you hand over the site or domain then they say the never got it and get a refund? I am trying to find a way to do this were both parties are protected.
moniker escrow becomes the registrar so the risk of the buyer claiming they did not receive the name/leaving the prior owner's info is eliminated
IMO 2co is best for domain & website sales. Coz i don't received and chargeback or non delivery from buyer
That Moniker’s is pretty expensive. For a domain name $1 - $500.99 they charge $50. So for a domain that would be 40 the seller would make no money for, the sale.
I don't see anyone mention Moneybookers here? I've seen other people mention them in favorable terms (especially for domain name and site sales), and I was kind of thinking of using them myself. Does anyone here have any experience with them?
Yes, I've used them to receive and send money. I trust them 100% (until given a reason not to) >>> The only problem is whether your potential buyers want to sign up, and fund, their account. <<< EDIT: The sender (buyer) also has to pay ~1% in fees, and the receiver (seller) pays zero fees before withdrawing money. If you (later) spend that money, then your only fee is the 1% sender fee, so Moneybookers can be a great deal.
Thanks for the reply, gemini. I'm using MB for my sports betting accounts, so for that purpose they're fine. As you said, though, the buyer should either have a MB account, or be willing to open one.
You know someone could make a killing if they offered a LEGIT service like Paypal for virtual real estate sellers.
