I have seen plenty of spam in my days as I am sure you all have too. Does this make email marketing ineffective now a days or do you think email marketing campaign can still be successful?
The quality of the leads I think is the most important thing. Your own leads from your squeeze page will still be plenty good.
It’s certainly less affective, and not a method I would strongly agree with. However, targeting the audience is key. Just spamming everyone is pointless, and your email account will be flagged as spam in next to no time rendering all future emails sent straight to the junk folder. If you're going to do this, make sure you target your audience, and only email those that will be positively interested in your product (easier said than done), but if you really think about it, where there is a will there is a way. Still, I don’t agree with email marketing unless its to existing product users (even then it can be annoying)
Well, I don't think that email marketing is less effective nowadays because there are still a lot of marketers making money by doing email marketing.
This doesnt show that it's not less affective; it might show that it could still have an effect but "less" or "more" isn’t shown by your statement? People use it because its very cheap, and still has an effect. But it can’t be ignored that it’s less effective due to all the: 1. Personal word Spam Filters 2. People setting up accounts that only allow emails they know to get through 3. Hosting account spam filters and spam watchers that pass on know offending ip addresses 4. People ignoring certain titles in the inbox due to the amount of spam they get 5. People recognising common general template bodies of most spam messages .. and probably lots more
I was trying to say that email marketing is not dead. So, there is no such thing as less or more. I am not sure if mygalaxy have any clue about what he's talking.
I think email marketing is still very effect, just used differently. You used to just send out a bunch of email to someones list that you bought and would get some sales. Now you need to earn your Lists trust. You do this by: -slowly building the list, don't just buy someones and expect to ask them for money -give them amazing free content in exchange for there name and mail on your list. -Make them your biggest fan. By that I mean actually provide great products through your email marketing.
yes I just delete most messages. Probably most ppl are like this now. I dont take email serioulsy anymore. 99% of the stuff in my inbox gets deleted and not even read.
Email marketing is not dead, but you can't rely on it anymore. You need multiple channels to deliver content such as RSS feeds, Twitter, Facebook etc.
It's dead to many of the spammers and n00bs. It's better than it's been in a long time for most of us though. Now that filters are better and email providers are quick to block and are very strict, people are more likely to actually READ their email they're getting. So cashing in is much more likely now provided you: 1) know how to keep your deliver ability and open rates high through staying white listed using double opt in and easy opt outs and complying with spam regulations 2) don't over work your list, know how to grow it, know what content to deliver and when
It is just like everything else internet related. 10 years ago you could send tons of email with good results. Now there are spam filters and everyone else is doing the same thing. You just have to be more creative with it now.
hmmm, difficult one this as you are actually sending Direct Mail, except sending it electronically. I wouldn't say email is dead, just difficult to get right. The following is true of email: 1. You'll get spam 2. Response will be slow to open sales emails 3. Start ups will find it an unforgiving sales tool Typically response is about 4%. Email needs to be managed expertly, send too many and you annoy recipients - and they won't buy, send to few - they won't remember you. But communication is important, so I'd use it for introductions as it is easier than the telephone. Using it for actual sales, is real hard, and only works when trust is established and your product is damn good. It's good for repeat sales eg: when a customer has already bought from you. This is what I feel about advertising using email: Choosing an Advertising Method Direct Mail Letter: Cost: Low Advantages: Targeted audience High response rate 2-5% Disadvantages: Time-consuming to locate a good mailing list
Email marketing is by far not dead. It comes down to building your own list of .. buyers. And, as soon as you have grown a list do not squeeze it to death. I know some pretty 'famous' marketers who are just hitting hard on every list they have. Yes, it brings them small fortunes, yet, I think hitting it hard will kill the ratio of people staying subscribed. If the subscriber has just bought a system that will make him money, it is my believe not to hit him with another promotion too soon thereafter. I have seen quite some emails from other marketers (The ones who push it sometimes too hard) of people who just do not appreciate that aggressive way of marketing. So, question: Email marketing dead? No, you just got to get your list!
For me it depends on the niche. My Internet marketing list is ten times bigger than my Forex list yet my Forex list has better results. Email marketing isn't dead. I just think it needs to be done differently.
I agree with quangvan... There are many many websites which promises that they will give genuine email lists... So while choosing the websites you to be very careful.... Or else you will get nothing other then spam...
